This week we learned about homographs (A word that has more than one meaning but is spelled the same. ie down, tear, fan... you know...).
A kid just came up to me while working on a writing assignment...
"I have a question. You know homographs? Well, if you use a word and it is spelled the right way, but it is the wrong meaning, do you still get points?"
"Yes."
Do I need to explain why this is funny to me? If the word is spelled correctly, who is going to read it and think it is the "other" meaning?
I am a fan of baseball. (I am a something that blows on you of baseball?)
He was thinking way too hard!
